Yolanda Waldon is a postsecondary retention specialist with Kauffman Scholars, Inc. (KSI) and works with scholars at Avila University, Emporia State University, Park University, University of Missouri – St. Louis, Southeast Missouri State University along with all out-of-network institutions.
Prior to joining the KSI team in 2013 as a postsecondary advisor, Yolanda served as the assistant director of multicultural student recruitment and retention at the University of Central Missouri and also worked at the University of Missouri - Kansas City’s (UMKC) Office of Multicultural Student Affairs. Additionally, Yolanda served as the director of the early college program for the Afrikan Centered Education Collegium Campus (ACECC).
Yolanda earned her bachelor’s of business administration from the University of Central Missouri and her master’s of arts in urban education and leadership with an emphasis in higher education administration from the UMKC. She also attended Jackson State University as part of her collegiate experience which sparked her desire to make a greater impact on her community.
